Audiology Center and hearing aid donations

The Audiology Center, which provides hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings for adults and children with financial hardships, opened in March 2013 with technical support from an Australian volunteer audiologist. The focus of the Audiology Center is to diagnose hearing loss and to provide intervention as early as possible. The center is operated in collaboration with the Center of Prenatal and Neonatal Diagnosis and Screening, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Through support from overseas individuals and organizations, OGCDC aims to provide new or second-hand hearing aids for poor patients.

Up to now:

  • 37 new hearing aids have been donated for 25 patients.
  • 25 second-hand hearing aids have been given to 25 patients.

Besides the hearing aids, patients receive sufficient speech therapy to develop their language, speech and communication skills.
