Healing the Wounding Heart (HWH) Shop

Healing the Wounded Heart (HWH) project is one of humanitarian activity of Fund of Genetic Counseling and Disabled Children (OGCDC) in cooperation with SPIRAL Foundation, which is a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles. On this project, we create jobs for young disabled artisans, most of whom are hearing-impaired, training them on how to make handicrafts from recycled materials and traditional textiles. A part of the proceeds from the sales goes towards paying salaries and all insurance as well as monthly support for the artisans.

The chance for people with disabilities to find a job is really difficult. So the HWH is a good opportunity for them to work. Besides giving for people with disabilities a stable job with fair income, 10 % of total from sale is used to for fund for heart surgery for children with heart defect in Heart Operation Program of OGCDC.

Most of HWH’s products are made from recycled materials and by making use of recycled materials such as water bottles, soda cans, food wrappers, etc. we also hope to raise awareness of environment protection in the local community.
