Messi Ralph Pawren has been nominated the
mascot for OGCDC.
Messi was chosen because of the optimal
hearing that dogs have as they can hear many more sounds than humans. They can
also localise sounds more precisely than people.
Messi is a tiny toy poodle who lives in Australia and is a fashionista, soccer
lover and enjoys dancing tango.
He is named after the famous soccer player Lionel Messi.
Messi will be parading along with other dogs in Melbourne Australia wearing
different clothes to raise funds in support for the “Hear and Talk Project “to
buy hearing equipment to test newborn babies. The pet fashion parade is called “PAWS FOR THE HEARING CAUSE”
This event will take place on the 26 of
March 2017 at HA Smith Reserve in Hawthorn, Melbourne
Messi will also run a campaign “DONATE SOFT TOYS AND CHILDRENS CLOTHES
(ages from 0-5 years) FOR THE HEARING CAUSE “hoping to obtain donations of
new and used toys and timber blocks to condition children to respond to sounds. To
that effect many primary local schools will be asked to gather donations of used
small toys that can be shipped to Central Vietnam.
